Educational History 

About Me

I am a native Virginian, born in Alexandria and raised in Prince William County. I was in the centennial graduating class at Massanutten Military Academy (1999) in Woodstock, Virginia.  I earned a B.A. from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and I spent fifteen years in the finance industry working in credit, investments, and lending before making the transition to education. I am a proud career-switcher and I earned my teaching license through Shenandoah University’s School of Education and Human Development.  I earned a master's degree in History from Liberty University in 2022.  I was the History department chair at Rappahannock County High School in Washington, Virginia, for six years and I was honored to have been selected as the 2023 Teacher of the Year for Rappahannock County Public Schools.  This is my first year at John Handley High School where I will teach AP World History and VA & US Government.  I enjoy traveling, photography and exploring historical sites, especially in Virginia, and I document my journeys on Instagram and Facebook. My wife and I have been married for 12 years, and we have two wonderful daughters.
