Hello! I am Mr. Furey. I teach World Geography & AP Economics. This will be my 9th year teaching and my 2nd year at Handley. I grew up in Northern Virginia and attended Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University for my undergraduate degree in History and returned to GMU for my master's in Education. I am so excited to guide students through the complex human story, to help them develop their voice, and to learn and practice the skills necessary to express themselves with confidence and the support of evidence. 

Outside of school, my main hobbies are weightlifting, mountain biking, video gaming, and reading. My wife and I have a daughter, Saoirse, who is turning 1 year old at the start of this school year. We also have two cats, Mina & Nori.
