Mr. Newcome has been an educator since 2004, starting in Frederick County, MD and moving to John Handley High School in 2014.  His love for literature and poetry lead him to the English Language Arts classroom; his focus is on Projects Based Learning through social action and various types of essay writing, including narrative, expository and persuasive writing.  He became the Chair of the English Department in 2016.
