Winchester Public Schools has partnered with Comcast to provide eligible families with free internet at home. During the student registration process, WPS will provide families with a unique promo code to be used during the Comcast application process for Internet Essentials. Questions regarding the promo codes should be directed to the school's Student Services staff.

What is Internet Essentials?

Comcast Internet Essentials is a program for families and other low-income households who currently do not subscribe to the internet at home.

Who is Eligible?

• Families interested in signing up for the program will be provided a code by WPS. However, Comcast will determine eligibility. Families may qualify if they:
  
  
• Are eligible for public assistance programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, and others.
• Live in an area where Comcast Internet Service is available.
• Are not an existing Xfinity Internet customer and have not subscribed to Comcast Internet within the last 90 days. *If you are already an Internet Essentials customer Comcast will assist you in migrating your account to be paid by WPS.

Students who do not have internet access at home also have the option to check out a mobile hotspot. Students may check with their school leadership, librarians, or Instructional Technology Coach for more information about checking out a mobile hotspot.
