I am a native of Winchester, Virginia and a proud graduate of Winchester Public Schools. After working as an instructional assistant for over 17 years, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher and graduated from Western Governors University in 2015. Second language acquisition is a passion of mine, and I recently earned a Master of Arts degree in English Language Learning. In addition to my elementary education license, I am also endorsed to teach ESOL. Having taught both second grade and kindergarten for a number of years, I am thrilled to join the PEAP team this year. I am so grateful that I get to spend my days with my students. My primary goal is to teach them a love of learning and make their school experiences ones that they will remember fondly for years to come.
When I am not busy in my classroom , I enjoy spending time with my family, reading by the pool, and doing all sorts of crafts with my daughter.
These are a few of my favorite things:
Children's book: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo
Favorite subject in school: Language Arts
Favorite Color: purple
Favorite Food: Chinese, Mexican, and cheesecake
I never start my day without: coffee and some good music for my ride to school
