Work-Related Injury or Illness
As a WPS employee, if you are injured on the job or have sustained an occupational illness, you may be eligible to receive benefits under Workers’ Compensation. Enrollment in the program is automatic and there is no cost for employees to participate.
What to Do if You Experience a Work-Related Injury or Illness
If the injury is life-threatening or limb-threatening, proceed immediately to the emergency department at Winchester Medical Center or Warren Memorial Hospital.
If a simple injury occurs, report the incident immediately to your supervisor and report the incident to the school nurse. You will be asked to provide information regarding how and when the accident occurred. In addition, you will be asked to complete the following forms:
- Workers’ Compensation Acknowledgement of Receipt of Panel of Physicians
- Workers’ Compensation Preferred Provider Panel Consent Form

If further medical treatment is necessary, seek medical treatment only from a physician on the approved provider list below. Treatment rendered by a provider not on the list could jeopardize your benefits.
