Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)
-
Per the Regulations Governing Special Education Programs for Children with Disabilities in Virginia, each school division is required to have a Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC). The major purpose of SEAC is to provide an opportunity for parents and other school board appointees to have a voice in the way school divisions provide services to students with disabilities. SEAC members are responsible for collaborating with the special education department and school board to address unmet needs for students with disabilities and their families.
