I went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received my Bachelor's of Science degree in elementary education with a minor in elementary mathematics.  The following year, I completed my Master's of Education in elementary mathematics from the same university.  After completing my education, I moved to Virginia, where I have taught for over 40 years.  I have taught remedial and gifted math in second - sixth grade. I taught sixth grade, fourth-first grade, third grade, second grade and prekindergarten.

While living in Virginia, I met my husband, another educator.  We now have three grown children and two grandchildren.
