At John Kerr Elementary School we believe that providing students the opportunity to participate in clubs and activities is incredibly important. Joining one or more of our exciting clubs or activities gives students many opportunities including: making new friends, building respect and learning teamwork, gaining self-confidence, relieving stress, learning real-world skills, developing time management skills, and just having fun while you learn!

After school enrichment clubs and activities are held throughout the school year on a seasonal basis, typically one session in the Fall and another session in the Spring.  Enrichment activities will vary.  Previous club offerings have included Sensational Sewing, Mobile Madness, Cardio Kickball, Wonderful Weaving, Cheernastics, and many more.

  All groups will run on either Tuesdays and/or Thursdays starting in March.

Chess (3rd/4th)

This is a class for chess beginners! Students will learn the fundamentals of how each piece moves, play games, and even participate in a tournament. Chess Club will meet from 2:45-4PM on Tuesdays.

Engineering (3rd-4th)

Do you like to design and build things? In the Engineering club, students will learn how to use the engineering process with math, science, and creativity to solve problems, create new inventions, and improve existing ones.  The Engineering club will be held from 2:45-4PM on Tuesdays.

LEGO League (2nd-4th)

Come have fun with Lego building and challenges. Lego League will meet from 2:45-4PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Soaring Spirit Squad (1st-4th)

If you have school spirit and enjoy dancing, then this is the club for you! This club will focus on learning basic dance moves and spreading Cardinal Spirit!   Soaring Spirit Squad for 3rd/4th grade will be held after school on Thursdays from 2:45-4PM.  Soaring Spirit Club for 1st/2nd grade will be held after school on Tuesdays from 2:45-4PM. 

Weird Science (1st-4th)

Students will experience science experiments in a fun and exciting way. Get ready to have many Best Day Ever moments as we complete some weird science lessons. Each session is different and filled with learning!  Weird Science for 3rd/4th grade will be held after school on Thursdays from 2:45-4PM.  Weird Science for 1st/2nd grade will be held after school on Tuesdays from 2:45-4PM.
