Hello and welcome to my page!! Just a little about me…..I am beginning my 26th year of teaching. I am so excited to be part of the SPED team and wholeheartedly believe in accelerating growth by readiness-not grade level!!  I have taught  special education, first, second, and third grades for many years at Frederick Douglass Elementary School and John Kerr.

I am what you would call a “career switcher.” I have worked as a staff accountant, banker in Trust Operations, and a buyer for a major retail chain. After many years in the retail industry, I decided to go back to college and get my Masters of Education. As my family says….”You are a professional student.” What can I say??? I love to learn and my hope is to instill that love of learning to my students!

I have two wonderful grown children, Ryan and Casey. I am also a GIGI to a 3-year-old little boy and an 18-month-old little girl. They are the loves of my life!
