Dear VACDES Students and Families,

I am thrilled to welcome you all  back for the 2023-2024 school year! I am so looking forward to meeting and connecting with each of you in the coming year. At Virginia Avenue Charlotte DeHart Elementary School (VACDES), we are committed to being “an inclusive community that empowers all students to thrive” (WPS Vision statement). As a Winchester native, and a Winchester Public Schools graduate, this community means everything to me.

As the Assistant Principal of VACDES, I am devoted to building strong relationships with students and families. My goal is to ensure that every child feels supported and loved the minute they walk through the front door of our building.

Thank you for the privilege of working alongside you to develop the future leaders of tomorrow. Ms. Hoxton began her career in Special Education at Frederick County Public Schools. In 2019, Ms. Hoxton moved to Winchester Public Schools to become a Special Education Teacher 5/6 (Autism Specialist) until July 2022, when she moved into the role of Individual Service Plan Coordinator and Educational Diagnostician K-8.
