Title I Plan

  • As a Title I school, GQES  supports our core Instructional program.  Our three goals include writing, guided math, and movement/fitness.  We are fortunate to work with the Shenandoah Valley Writing Project, a part of Shenandoah University to become a Writing Project School.  Moreover, guided math instruction dovetails with our Writing Project focus as students think deeply about concepts in math and demonstrates this thinking versus just performing an algorithm.  Lastly, we want our students and staff to be in good physical health, so we focus on movement and fitness as ways to enhance our overall wellbeing.  All students at GQES receive Physical Education four days a week iin addition to recess periods every day.  Our Title I plan includes multifaceted data analysis, actionable strategies, teachers’ teaching teachers, and strong community partnerships to meet our goals.  We are excited to be able to offer our STEM academy at GQES to help prepare learners for 21st century skills including communication, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and citizenship.
