More Info:
We are excited to announce a new partnership with Right at School, a nationally recognized school enrichment provider, for after school care at WPS elementary schools from 2:35-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Starting in the fall of 2023, Right At School will operate programs at Garland R. Quarles, John Kerr, and Virginia Avenue Charlotte DeHart Elementary Schools for students in kindergarten through 4th grade. Students at Frederick Douglass Elementary School will have the opportunity to attend the after school program at Quarles with transportation provided by WPS. With this new program, students will have childcare “right at school” with trained staff.
The program cost is $258 per month for five days per week, and families have the flexibility to choose fewer days of attendance for a lower cost. WPS is committed to making the program even more affordable for families who need support. WPS will utilize grant funding to provide free enrollment for 12 students at each site and 50% reduced tuition for an additional 12 students at each site. Right at School also offers a 50% discount for WPS staff members, a 20% discount for families who are economically disadvantaged, and a 10% sibling discount.
For families who would like to apply for financial assistance through WPS, applications are available at https://bit.ly/41kTY0p and in the front offices of each elementary school. For all other families, including those who want to take advantage of the Right at School discounts listed above, enrollment begins on April 21 and can be completed at https://bit.ly/3LhRg6j. There is a $50 registration fee to apply.
Winchester Public Schools will continue to offer transportation for students who attend after school programs at The HIVE (Winchester Parks and Recreation) and The Kids Club.
