Red Ribbon Week is celebrated across the nation each year from Oct. 23rd-31st.. At FDES, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week from October 26th through October 29th. The theme for Red Ribbon Week this year is "Drug Free Looks Like Me." Festivities for this week will include special dress up days.
Here is the schedule:
Tuesday, October 26th: Drugs Free Looks Like Me- Twin Day (wear matching outfits with a friend)
Wednesday, October 27th: Turn Your Back on Drugs- Wear your shirt backwards day
Thursday, October 28th: Team Up Against Drugs- Wear FDES Panda Gear or Sports Team Gear
Friday, October 29th: Pandas are Too Smart for Drugs!-Dess up as a storybook character day
In addition, Mrs. Zimmerman will be visiting classrooms during Red Ribbon Week to share important lessons.
After the lessons, please take the opportunity to have conversations with your child/children about drugs, alcohol and smoking/vaping. It is important that they hear your voice and your values about taking care of their body and mind. 2nd through 4th grade will bring home a pledge about living a healthy life. This would be a great way to start a conversation with these children at home.
A special thank you to Mrs. Zimmerman for organizing the events for Red Ribbon Week at FDES.
