FDES World Read Aloud Day

World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) is an annual event created by LitWorld and held to celebrate literacy and reading aloud.  This year, World Read Aloud Day was held on Friday, Feb. 1st.

On this day, people all around the globe read aloud together.  Due to Snow Days, FDES celebrated with a special school wide read aloud and Reading Celebration on Monday, Feb. 11th.

Students listened to the book I Hate Picture Books by Timothy Young, which was read by Mrs. Stock and acted out by Mrs. Estes.  In addition, students watched student book commericals and experienced in D.E.A.R. time.

A special thank you to Mrs. Stock, Mrs. Hutchinson, Ms. Trimmer, and the Literacy Committee for planning this event.
