FDES Colonial Holiday

FDES fourth graders spent a day enjoying holiday traditions from Colonial Virginia on Thursday, Dec. 20th.

They handcrafted string art and ribbon tree ornaments, made their own whirligig toy, created orange and clove pomander decorations, churned their own butter, and decorated gingerbread cookies.

In the afternoon, they took part in a holiday celebration that included dancing the Virginia Reel and snacking on period foods.
