Project SEARCH Recognition

Project SEARCH The Valley Health-Winchester Medical Center Project SEARCH is a collaboration between Winchester Public Schools and Frederick County Public Schools. The program is now in its third year. Project SEARCH High School transition program is a business led, one year, school to work program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Student participants work through three strategically designed internship experiences during the program.

Project SEARCH recognizes program sites achieving 70=100% competitive employment for all participants in a given program year. At the 2019 Project SEARCH Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA, 192 program sites from 37 states and 4 countries were recognized for achieving 70-100% employment for their 2018 program graduates.

At its November 25 meeting, the Winchester School Board recognized the Valley Health-Winchester Medical Center Project SEARCH site for obtaining 83% competitive employment for the 2018 program year.
