On March 4, all four of the elementary schools in Winchester Public Schools will kick off Preschool registration from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm for students who will enter Preschool for the 2019-2020 school year.
Any child who will be 4 years old by September 30, 2019 and is income-eligible, should register for Preschool at the elementary school for the zone in which they live.
Registration will be held at each elementary school - Garland Quarles, Frederick Douglass, John Kerr, and Virginia Avenue Charlotte DeHart Elementary School. Families may check the school division’s website (www.wps.k12.va.us) or call an elementary school to confirm the school zone in which the family resides.
Families should bring the child’s birth certificate, proof of family income,(i.e. tax returns or a month of recent pay stubs, SSI, TANF, or SNAP benefits), immunization records, a certificate of physical examination completed no earlier than August 9, 2018, (if available), and proof of residency. After March 4, registration will continue at each elementary school on Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

• Garland Quarles Elementary School - Monday, March 4th, 4pm-7pm • Frederick Douglass Elementary School - Thursday, March 7th, 7am-6:30pm • John Kerr Elementary School - Thursday, March 21st, 7am-6:30pm • Virginia Avenue Charlotte DeHart Elementary School - Wednesday, March 27th, 7am-6:30pm
