JKES Stewart Bell Jr. Award

Amy Rogers

Congratulations to JKES first grade teacher, Amy Rogers, for receiving the Stewart Bell Jr. Excellence in Teaching Award this year.

The Stewart Bell Jr. Award was created by former Winchester Mayor, Stewart Bell Jr. Each year a WPS teacher is selected from a different school on a rotating basis.

The annual award is intended to honor an educator who meets the following criteria:

Successfully reveals to the students the nature and possibilities of the world in which they live.

Helps maturing students discover their own interests, strengths and weaknesses.

Challenges each student to adopt standards and goals for a productive life suitable to their interests and capabilities.

Assists and motivates students to develop accordingly.
