FDES Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually Sept. 15th through Oct. 15th.  September 15th was chosen for the start date because it is the anniversary of Independence Day for Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Honduras (all in 1821).  Hispanic Heritage Month is a special time dedicated to recognizing the culture, achievements, and contributions made by Hispanic and Latin Americans.

At FDES, many of our teachers and staff members are Hispanic and Latin Americans.  During this special month-long celebration, we will share fun facts during morning announcements, learn more about other cultures, learn about the history of this event, and more.
