The John Handley High School Art Show link features student artwork from Art Foundations, Drawing and Painting I & II, Sculpture I & II and AP Studio Art: 2-D Design and AP Studio Art: 3-D Design under the direction of Heather Scott and Alli Hollinger.
At JHHS, art students start with the Art Foundations class which teaches the core principles and elements of art, various media and techniques, and introduces students to the other more specialized courses offered at JHHS. After successful completion of Art Foundations, students can choose to either learn more about 2-dimensional media with Drawing and Painting I or 3-dimensional media with Sculpture I. Both have a second level course available as well. Two intensive AP Studio Art courses are also offered at Handley: 2-D Design and 3-D Design.
The artwork featured in the JHHS Art Show is a compilation of artwork from students at varying levels of classes. Usually the fine arts department holds a physical show in the wooden hallway at the end of each semester. This year, due to Covid, changes have been made to allow distance learners to participate and to provide a virtual art exhibit for the community. Through this virtual art show it is hoped you are able to enjoy the art and recognize the hard work and dedication from these students during such a challenging school year. Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Hollinger are very proud of their students and their work.
