WPS is a top 10% user!
Screencastify is a video recording Chrome app that many of our students and staff are actively using. WPS was recently recognized by the creators of Screencastify for being one of 2017's top 10% most active domains!
Because of this recognition, they are giving our entire district free access to the premium plan of their product for the rest of the school year, which gives all users unlimited screencasting and video editing!
Take a look at a few of the success stories below to find out how our teachers and students are using Screencastify to change their teaching and learning experience!

I have used this to go over homework problems. I can post it in Google Classroom which is helpful for students who are absent. I will sometimes use it for notes. I mostly will use the video on notes after a quiz or test, so students can start them as soon as they finish the quiz/test. It also makes it easier to catch up students when they are missing.
I find that students enjoy the videos because they can pause it when needed or go back to repeat a section. They don't feel like that have to hold up the rest of the class asking me to repeat my instruction.

I’ve had my students use Screebcastify to record a presentation they have created. The students created their own google slides and images, then used a script they wrote to narrate. They recorded themselves presenting then shared their presentations on Padlet.
My students love using screencastify to show their understanding of geography. The kids record themselves explaining the order and movement of battles during Civil War while also demonstrating on the map on screen. The viewer can see the map and hear the students explanation.
Screencastify allowed my students to become real meteorologists. The students used their understanding of weather symbols to analyze and forecast weather with a live weather map. The students wrote up a forecast then recorded themselves explaining the symbols and weather movement on the map. It was easy for the view to see both the map and student. This was such an easy way to have students independently create a meaningful and relevant product to show their understanding!

I use screencastify when I am out and have a sub. I leave my computer on and my sub just has to push play! It gives me an opportunity to explain the days lesson and student expectations. Most of my assignments are in Google Classroom, so I can walk through the lesson step by step. I have been told by my sub that it's a "game changer" in terms of clarity, student engagement, and even discipline!
