Winchester Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Beth O’Donnell as Principal of John Kerr Elementary School effective July 1, 2019.
Ms. O’Donnell has been Assistant Principal at John Kerr Elementary School since January of 2016. Ms. O’Donnell has been an educator for 13years, with a total of 6 years in Winchester Public Schools. Before becoming the Assistant Principal, Ms. O’Donnell served as a 4th and 5th grade teacher in Louisa County, Fairfax County, and Winchester City Public Schools. Additionally, she served as an instructional coach in Frederick County.

Ms. O’Donnell stated, "I am thankful for the opportunity to take on the role of principal at John Kerr Elementary School. I have had the privilege of watching John Kerr grow into the innovative new school it is today. I am thrilled to lead John Kerr into the next phase and continue to promote personalized, child centered learning.”
Ms. O’Donnell holds a B.A. in History and Elementary Education from Randolph Macon College, M.A. Degree in Teaching from George Mason University, and an Administration and Supervision Certificate from James Madison University. Ms. O’Donnell holds a Virginia teaching license with endorsements in elementary education, gifted education, and administration and supervision.
Ms. O’Donnell will be filling the position vacated by Ms. Laura Evy, who is retiring from Winchester Public Schools effective June 30, 2019.
