GQES Apple Blossom Parade

2019 Apple Blossom Parade:

Hope you have had a chance to enjoy the extra time that we had off for our city’s Annual Apple Blossom festivities last week!  If you came to our Annual GQES Apple Blossom Parade last Thursday, it was an amazing event!  Shout out to Ms. Mandy Estep, kindergarten teacher and her team for helping organize this wonderful parade project along with all pre-kindergarten teachers and students, kindergarten teachers and students, and grade one teachers and students!  They were adorable!  We also want to thank the city of Winchester’s Mayor, Mayor David Smith;  the South End Fire and Rescue Department units;  Mr. James Lakey, a veteran; Mr. AK Whatley, a veteran who drove Dozer, Mr. Robert Kilby for driving his army jeep, Mr. Doug Harrison, band director along with the fantastic John Handley High School Marching Band and Flag Team, Queen Kelly Rutherford and her court, Mr. Tag Grove, our town crier and student helper; Mr. Reed Poser, JHHS Athletic Director and JHHS student athletes;  Mrs. Amy Jaster and Jedi, therapy dog;  the Chic-fila Cow and escort;  the second grade students who carried banners in the parade; all of our second, third, and fourth grade students and teachers who were awesome audience members as well as all of our GQES families and friends who came for such a great parade!  Moreover, we want to give a special thank you to the Winchester Police Department and the Winchester City Council for helping us plan a safe and wonderful parade route this year!  It was truly a beautiful day and an awesome parade!!
