With the weather getting colder and potential snow in the forecast, we wanted to remind you about our inclement weather procedures. Be sure to NOTIFY YOUR SCHOOL with any changes in contact information so you will receive weather-related messages.

1. Making the Call
The morning of an inclement weather event, staff members are out early assessing city road conditions. If we can safely run the buses, we will. The goal is to make a decision by 5:30 a.m.

2. Notification
If school is delayed or closed, a message will go out to all WPS staff and families. Info will also be posted on the GO WPS! mobile app, website, and social media: @tweetwps and @jvanheukelum (Twitter) and Winchester Public Schools (Facebook).

3. Distance Learning
When school is closed due to inclement weather, the day will likely be replaced with distance learning. Mandatory virtual attendance is expected for all students.
*Please note: If the opportunity for a true snow day without distance learning arises, you will be notified accordingly.

4. Internet Access
WPS has partnered with Comcast to provide eligible families with free internet services. Contact your School Social Worker for info so you are ready for distance learning!
