Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Amy Christy-Davila (Mrs. C-D)

I'm Amy Christy-Davila (Mrs. C-D, for short), and I have been in education for over 20 years.  My teaching endorsements include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), reading specialist, social studies, and middle school English. I will soon receive an endorsement in special education. I received my bachelor's degree from Smith College in Massachusetts. My master's degree is in public administration from American University in Washington, DC. I am currently a doctoral student at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA where I am studying special education and multilingual/multicultural education.

This year, I am excited to be the ESOL teacher for newcomer multilingual students in 7th and 8th grades at Daniel Morgan Middle School. I have taught ESOL for 16 years and enjoy teaching beginning English and academic language to students new to the United States.

My family and I have lived in the Winchester area for 17 years. My husband and I have two teenagers. The oldest moved here from Peru this year. We are working on becoming a bilingual household as two of us are learning English and two of us are learning Spanish. We all love animals and have three rescue cats and two rescue dogs. We also enjoy traveling, working in our garden, and cooking. I am a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi movies such as Marvel and Star Wars movies.
