My name is Devon Thompson, or as the students say, "Mr. T." I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from West Liberty University and graduated with a Master's in Education in STEM Education from American College of Education.
For a little background on me, I was raised on a farm with many animals (cattle, sheep, pigs, etc) in rural West Virginia. I became interested with singing in choir and currently sing in Berkeley County Community Choir, and now, often use musical/theatrical components in my lessons. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, gardening, cooking, yoga, Zumba, and spending time with my dogs, family, and friends. I am a certified children's yoga instructor, Apple teacher, and Trauma Sensitive Educator.
During our short time together, I am eager to create exciting, creative, and engaging lesson/activities to help the students learn new material. My goal is to establish connections with the students and with the knowledge that they learn. I am looking forward getting to know the students and their folks. Your child and his/her education are my top priorities are over these next few months.
