I am so pleased to be a part of the Frederick Douglass Elementary School family. I am a Career Switcher, having worked for over 20 years in Human Resources, recruiting for start-up facilities, training Human Resource personnel, and teaching team skills as part of a team management concept.
My Bachelor's degree is in Special Education with a minor in Math and Psychology from Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. I am currently working on a Masters degree in Reading at OD. I have taught Special Education, specifically Career Skills at the high school level. I have also taught fourth grade, and currently third grade.
Originally from Massachusetts, I have lived in the Winchester area for 20 years. I am married and have an incredible son in high school. We have a black lab, convinced he is human. Our family time is spent traveling as often as we have an opportunity to. We especially enjoy the beach!
I am second generation Portuguese and speak it fluently. Having travelled internationally, the FDES Dual Language Immersion program has special meaning for me. I have long understood the value of cross-cultural experiences for children. Our unique dual language program provides just that. I am very proud to be a part of the FDES dual language experience.
