My passion for languages and cultures has led me to pursue a degree in English and Portuguese, my native language. Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I moved to Winchester in 2008 as an exchange teacher through Participate (VIF at that time) but life took its course and now Virginia is home too. My passion for reading has led me to pursue a master’s degree in Reading through Shenandoah University in 2011.
2018 marks my 20th year as an educator. I have taught English and Spanish to all ages from Pre-K to adults in Brazil. Here in the USA, I am an ESOL teacher at the elementary level. Spanish has become one of the tools I use to help newcomers access learning and to communicate with their families.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our baby daughter and our two feline children.
