Hello! Let me share some information about myself. I have been teaching in Winchester Public Schools for 22 years. These years have included teaching 3rd grade, Kindergarten Resource Teacher, and 2nd grade at Frederick Douglass Elementary School. The opening of the new John Kerr Elementary School provided the opportunity for me to transfer and teach Kindergarten. Now I am excited to be involved in PEAP, a program involving K-2 students. This program allows the students more time with remediation or enrichment with their learning. Throughout these years, I have had the opportunity to experience many moments of excitement, enthusiasm, and wonder with the progress and growth of my students' learning. This will always be memorable for me and ones that I will always cherish. I look forward to more years of creating special moments.
When not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and gardening. During the summer months, I enjoy spending as much time as possible at a quiet beach in North Carolina. My days are filled with sunshine, sand, a good book, and the continuous search for fossilized shark teeth. This relaxing time helps me to revitalize and be prepared to begin another year building a community of learning and repect with my new students.
