I have been an educator at FDES for thirty years, having spent time teaching first, third, and fourth graders. My biggest passion is helping students to find a love for reading, and I enjoy being able to focus my efforts on language arts instruction.
I hold a BS degree in Early Childhood Education (Family and Child Development) from Virginia Tech, and I received an MS degree as a Reading Specialist from Shenandoah University.
I was born in California, and spent large parts of my childhood in Washington state, Virginia, and West Virginia. Winchester has been my home since coming to FDES. I live here with my husband Ned, my children Olivia and Jackson, and my four cats.
In my free time I enjoy reading good books, cheering on my favorite football teams (Go Hokies!), watching funny movies, eating out at good restaurants, hiking with my family, and laughing with dear friends.
