Governor's Schools

Summer Residential Governor’s Schools provide high school juniors and seniors with intensive educational experiences in visual and performing arts; humanities; medicine and health sciences; mathematics, science, and technology; or through mentorships in marine science or engineering.

The Summer Regional Governor’s School affiliated with Winchester Public Schools is Blue Ridge Environmental Governor’s School (BREGS).  Blue Ridge Environmental Studies Regional Summer Governor's School provides students with two weeks of stimulating and challenging learning experiences in the area of field biology and ecology, planned and delivered by highly qualified instructors committed to an interdisciplinary curriculum approach.

Academic Year Governor’s Schools serve advanced high school students during the academic year. The Academic Year Governor's School affiliated with Winchester Public Schools is Mountain Vista Governor’s School (MVGS).  MVGS provides students with acceleration and exploration in the fields of Math, Science, and Technology.
