Hello,

My name is Lisa Vance Kelly, a Special Education teacher at JHHS. I have a Masters in Education with a concentration in Special Education from ODU, Middle School math and Algebra I certificate from Emory and Henry College and a Business Management and Insurance degree from Radford University. I am an Autism specialist and find it a joy to work with students, finding what motivates them and reaching a student when they "get it".  I am certified to teach middle school math and Algebra I.  I love math and working math problems.  I co-teach in Algebra I and AFDA (Algebra, Functions and Data Analysis) classes.  My teacher career started out teaching in Washington County, Virginia in middle school for 7 years.  I moved back to Winchester and taught at Daniel Morgan Middle School for 3 1/2 years. This is my 5th year teaching at JHHS.  

I am a proud 19?? graduate of JHHS and love teaching at my Alma Mater.  The building was much different then, but it is still the most beautiful high school.  I am a mother of two wonderful young men.  I have two grandchildren that light up my world.   My 94 year old mother lives next door to me and we help each other get through life.  I have a cat named Sophia that keeps me laughing at her antics.

I am an avide sports fan supporting the Judges, Virginia Tech, Washington Nationals, Washington Football Team, Washington Capitals, and Nascar (#18, M&M Toyota).  My mother has gotten me hooked on Hallmark Movies and Wheel of Fortune.  In the summer, I love to go to our place on the Potomac river and spend time with my family fishing, swimming, boating, and grilling.
