After graduating from Handley in 1999, I earned a BS in Math from Shenandoah University, and an MS in physics from the College of William and Mary.  I have taught physics since 2006 (AP C Mechanics, AP C Electricity and Magnetism, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and General Physics), and love it.  I am also certified in math.  In 2021 I started teaching Handley's astronomy class, which is super fun, and presents a new challenge for me.

 

I began my teaching career in Newport News, VA, at Woodside High School, and then moved here to Winchester and taught for a few years at Sherando High School.  After having my fourth child I took a break from teaching full time and taught at a preschool for a few years.  In 2018 I started teaching AP Physics part time at Handley, and now teach full time.  

 

I have been married to Daniel Cutshaw since 2004, and have five incredible and zany children: Claire, Peter, Nicholas, Joy, and Juliette.  We enjoy reading very much, which we do together as a family almost every night.  We also like to learn new things together, and visit museums.
