The National Honor Society, sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, is one of Handley’s most prestigious recognitions for outstanding student performance.
 
Selection is based upon scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  Students must have clearly demonstrated outstanding qualities in these areas through service to others, a willingness to assume leadership roles, and, of course, outstanding character! 

Handley's chapter of the National Honor Society recognizes a member to be featured in NHS’s “Student Spotlight.”  This is a member who exemplifies the 4 pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Each student who is nominated will have his/her name entered into a pool of students who will be eligible for a scholarship through NHS at the end of the year.
