Hello! This will be my first year at John Handley High School, and I look forward to a great school year. Although my name on the website appears as Ms. Scanlon, I will go by Mrs. Peters this year because I recently got married. I live in Winchester with my husband and our two kittens, Artemis and Apollo. After school, I like to read, cook, explore downtown Winchester, and play with my cats. 

Previously, I have had experience teaching 9th and 12th-grade students at Broadway High School in Rockingham County. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and English from James Madison University (Go Dukes!). 

My favorite story genres are mystery and coming-of-age. I am a big fan of Agatha Christie's works as well as Gillian Flynn's.
